ABOUT

INTER DIMENSIONAL GAMING documents the moment videogames stop behaving like sealed worlds.

Developers and modders are making separate games communicate in real time: movement in one engine can alter another, weapons can cross boundaries, environments can be rebuilt somewhere they were never designed to exist, and entirely different rule sets can run together.

Why now

This is the result of several forces meeting at once. Modding tools are more capable, reverse-engineering knowledge is easier to share, open-source libraries reduce duplicated work, and communities can rapidly build on experiments published by one person.

AI changes the speed

AI does not explain every project shown here, but it lowers the cost of understanding unfamiliar code, translating between APIs, prototyping glue code and exploring software systems that previously demanded far more specialist time. That gives individual developers more leverage to attempt strange combinations and publish them quickly.

The project

INTER DIMENSIONAL GAMING is a public archive and broadcast of those experiments. The site stays deliberately simple: the work is the spectacle. The accompanying GitHub repository documents sources, creators, technical approaches and playable projects as the archive grows.
